When your webcam is working successfully, you should be able to see a video of yourself within the interview room. If you cannot see yourself in the interview room, or if you receive an error message related to your video, please double-check the following to ensure your webcam is accessible and functioning correctly.
If you can't see yourself in the interview room:
1. Close competing applications
- Exit all programs that might be using your webcam:
- Webcam software
- Skype
- Photobooth
- FaceTime
- Other video applications
- After closing these programs, exit and re-enter your interview
2. Check for physical obstructions
- Ensure nothing is covering your webcam
- Look for privacy covers that need to be slid open
- If using a docked laptop, verify the laptop is open with camera unobstructed
3. For Live interviews: Verify camera is ON
- If you see only your initials instead of your video, your camera is OFF
- Click the "Start Video" icon in the lower control panel to activate your camera
These steps resolve most webcam issues. If problems persist after trying these solutions, check your device settings or try a different device.
